Well, for those who know about my studio, the guys started working on the roof yesterday. Finally after three years - thanks, Mom! They began by ripping off the old rotted plywood, which gave the room some spectacular light. As a painter, I wish it could always have that much light streaming in through the rafters. Although, rainy days would bite - or even really sunny days. I guess I could lather up with sun screen.

I did make one improvement while the studio is in distress. I got rid of one of my closet spaces. Before you start wondering why, let me tell you that it was a terrible closet. The door was about two foot wide and all the storage was in the back corner. So if you needed anything, you would have to remove all the closet’s contents, then put them back when or if you found what you were looking for. Anyways, by removing the closet I gained about 24 square feet of space. If you look at the horizontal picture, it is the closet on the left.

After all this, I will miss the infamous “trash bag-to pipe-to out the window” drainage contraption that I had. It was actually more interesting than some of the art I have made.

I will keep you posted on the studio’s progress. If you are interested in small studio spaces or garden offices, a great website is Shedworking.

Later,
Carey

I do know that I need iWeb ’08 cause ’06 is very limited and the slideshow feature stinks.

Later,
Carey
